Former Man United midfielder Paul Scholes believes Sofyan Amrabat is not yet cut out to be a starter for the Red Devils.
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes Christian Eriksen should remain a starter in the Mancunian XI following the departure of the club’s latest recruit, Sofyan Amrabat.
“Amrabat does not build the game! »
Amrabat has made seven competitive appearances and last started against FC Copenhagen. However, he was not very convincing and was replaced at half-time by Erik Ten Hag.
Scholes believes that Eriksen, who just so happened to come on in place of the Moroccan, is a better option as a defensive midfielder.
“In the first half, we felt like we were watching a Europa League match. Like a Thursday evening. It was very bad. The second half was much better when we brought in the best footballers. We brought in Christian Eriksen, who is a much better footballer,” he told TNT Sports.
The famous redhead then argued by indicating that through his technique the Dane creates much more play than Amrabat. “I don’t want to disrespect Amrabat, he defends, he does what he has to do, but he doesn’t construct the game. Christian Eriksen does that. You could see the races, suddenly (Bruno) Fernandes was in the game, (Alejandro) Garnacho too. Eriksen finds these players. For 15 to 20 minutes, the team looked like a real team.”
