Coming out of PSG’s victory against AC Milan on Wednesday evening in the Champions League, Thierry Henry got totally excited about Warren Zaire-Emery.
At only 17 years old, Warren Zaire-Emery is changing dimensions. Having become an indisputable starter in the mind of Luis Enrique, the young midfielder trained at PSG shone again, this Wednesday evening at the Parc des Princes, during the success of the French champions against AC Milan (3-0) . Elected man of the match, the Montreuil native received a nice tribute from his Espoirs coach, Thierry Henry, totally under the spell of the player.
“I have never seen a player so young be so mature”
“The way Warren plays, it’s normal that he’s leading the game at 17. He was the only one to stand at St James’ Park. He looks amazing right now, and I know people will say ‘that’s one of your players.’ Yes, that’s true, but that has nothing to do with it. It is exceptional – the sky is the limit. I have never seen a player so young be so mature. “This guy has no limits”
And to add: “I told him I gave him the armband because I wanted to see what happened next. I know what he can do physically, as you can see, he’s strong, he can run, he’s good at passing, he can stop a counter-attack. I wanted to know if he could also stop a player by speaking. So I gave him the armband to see if he could lead a team and talk – that was my way of testing him and believe me, he can. This guy has no limits. Luis Enrique spoke about Warren’s professionalism and how much he loves the game. This is very important. Sometimes with many young people, the people around them aren’t there to help them. Warren has a very close-knit family around him that is very close, and these type of players, especially at a young age, need that structure around them to perform.
