Author of the Lens equalizer thanks to a marvelous goal, Elye Wahi should have been replaced a few minutes earlier.
Elye Wahi strikes again. As against Arsenal, the former Montpellier player scored his goal on Tuesday against PSV Eindhoven. A goal as spectacular as it was precious since his acrobatic volley allowed RC Lens to equalize after Johan Bakayoko’s opener.
The hero of the evening said after the match that he had to come out to be replaced but that Franck Haise finally changed his mind. “I think I had to go out and the coach had a little impulse to wait a little bit. At first, as he told me when I went to see him, I had to go out but I think he had this little trigger which meant that I had to wait a little. It was a nice little moment, but the main thing is there,” he told Canal+ Foot.
“There are plans to bring Elye out. Sometimes the coach has a last minute, last second intuition. I told myself that Elye could still score us a goal, even if his match had been difficult. And I’m changing for that. Awesome ? I don’t know if it’s great”confirmed the Lensois technician.
