Former French international, Samir Nasri, highlighted Kylian Mbappé’s best position at PSG.

Kylian Mbappé has “total freedom” on the front of the Parisian attack line. Luis Enrique, his trainer, assured this again Tuesday evening at the microphone of Canal+. But is playing without a fixed position a good thing for your team? Samir Nasri doesn’t think so.

“Mbappé, it’s better to have him in the middle”

Asked about the Bondynois during the Canal Football Club show, Nasri declared that “it’s better to put it in the axis”. “Because if he’s on the left, he doesn’t defend. And the laterals then have a big importance. Because the little collective work he does will not hinder the team in defending,” he elaborated.

“And then, when we have the ball and he wants to move away to the left side while he moves away to the left side”added the former international.

And when asked whether Mbappé should play alone up front or in a two-man attack, Nasri responded : “It’s better to have him in the middle. If it is with Gonçalo Ramos, then let them be two in front. But if it’s with Kolo Muani, then Kolo Muani has to step aside.”

Finally, Nasri concluded by indicating that he could very well see Luis Enrique launching a four-headed attack against Milan: “He can do it because he’s already at home. And the AC Milan midfielder is not their strength and they are not going to impose the same pressure. They will perhaps be more wait-and-see.”
