The coach of the French women’s team Hervé Renard confirmed Constance Picaud as number 1 in goals, but the PSG goalkeeper lost her place during the Rouge et Bleu’s last decisive match in the Champions League.
A few months after the Women’s World Cup in Oceania and nine months before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Hervé Renard made a strong decision for the French women’s team: Pauline Peyraud-Magnin (31), starting goalkeeper for three years with the Bleus, lost his place to Constance Picaud (25 years old). If Picaud has since played the last championship match against Lille last Saturday, his coach, Jocelyn Prêcheur, confirmed that his two goalkeepers were now in competition. “ I am lucky to have two goalkeepers of similar level, with slightly different profiles. We decided with the goalkeeper coach not to impose a hierarchy for the moment “, he told PSG Culture. This does not suit Hervé Renard.
