Giroud, the disaster

Before AC Milan’s match against PSG on Wednesday in the Champions League, Rossoneri followers are worried about the lackluster form of Olivier Giroud, who has not scored in 10 matches.

Olivier Giroud, who has just celebrated his 37th birthday, started the season with a bang with AC Milan, scoring four goals (including three penalties) in the Rossoneri’s first three matches. Since September 1, the French international has not shaken the net in seven matches in all competitions with his club (six starts, only one appearance) as well as in three meetings with the France team ( one tenure, two appearances).

Before the Champions League match against PSG, Wednesday evening at the Parc des Princes, for the third day, the Lombard press as well as the San Siro regulars are worried about the discretion of the center forward who arrived in the summer of 2021 (and decisive during the championship title obtained in the spring of 2022). Especially since Noah Okafor, victim of a muscle injury, is out of this first shock against the Parisians (second round in two weeks).

Okafor, a versatile striker, was signed for 14 million euros from Salzburg to compete with Giroud. Or at least offer another profile to Stefano Pioli. He has two goals in nine games (only one start). Faced with a team as dominant as that of Luis Enrique, AC Milan would have liked to count on two arrows like Okafor and Rafael Leao. It is Giroud, in his usual role of deliveryman, who will play at the forefront.
