This Monday, former FC Barcelona and France team player Jérémy Mathieu announced his retirement from football.
As he celebrates his 40th birthday this Sunday, Jérémy Mathieu officially hangs up his crampons. While he had been playing for two years in the club Luynes Sportsin Regional 1, the former French international announced that he was finally retiring.

A few hours before our match against Liverpool, Jérémy Mathieu ends his great career.

Trained to Sochauxwith whom he won the Coupe de la Ligue, Mathieu then contributed to the good results of Toulouse in the late 2000s before heading to Spain. HAS Valencehe played 177 matches, discovered the Champions League and even his first selections in French team. He was then a surprise recruit of the FC Barcelona in 2014. In Catalonia, he expanded his record by winning the Champions League (in 2015), three Copas del Rey, two Liga and the Club World Cup, before adding three trophies to his record with the Sportswhile having worn the Blues jersey five times, all in friendly matches.
