As part of the 9th day of Serie A, AS Roma, eleventh at kick-off, welcomed Monza, eighth. At the Stadio Olimpico, José Mourinho’s men hoped to confirm their good momentum after three consecutive victories gleaned before the international break. For its part, Monza, undefeated in its last five matches, also remained on an encouraging run. A meeting that the Romans took in the right direction. However, despite a clear domination in the first period, the scoreboard barely changed.

Just before the break, Roma even found themselves in numerical superiority following Danilo D’ambrosio’s second yellow card (41st). A major advantage which, however, did not lead to much. We finally had to wait until the last moments of this match to see new entrant Stephan El Shaarawy make the difference (1-0, 90th). With this result, AS Roma moves up to 6th place in the ranking. For its part, Monza remains 8th.
