Victorious on Sunday evening on the pitch of AC Milan (0-1, 9th day of Serie A), Juventus made a very good move and moved up to third place in the standings, a small point behind the Milanese and two behind the ‘Inter.

It was the shock of the ninth day of Serie A. The Italian “Clasico” between AC Milan and Juventus. The task did not look easy for the visitors from Turin since Olivier Giroud and his team had four consecutive victories in the championship. But thanks to a scenario that smiled on them, notably with the early expulsion of Malick Thiaw from Milan, the Bianconeri won (0-1). In the ranking, they come back to a small point behind their victim of the day and find themselves third.

However, it was Milan who had the best start with some good offensive actions, including one at the end of which Olivier Giroud came up against Wojciech Szczesny (15th). But the illegal intervention of Thiaw, the last defender when grabbing Moise Keane by the jersey (40th), changed everything. Direct red card for the defender and obligation for Stefano Pioli to reorganize his team by removing Christian Pulisic and replacing him with Pierre Kalulu.

Championship relaunched

However, the visitors were not able to score a single shot in the first half and it was therefore doubly vengeful that they returned to the pitch for the second act. This time, it was they who had almost all the opportunities and it was finally Manuel Locatelli who broke the deadlock and scored the one and only goal of the match, in the sixty-third minute of play. Tired, the Milanese were unable to succeed. not to come back, thus conceding their second defeat of the season.

A setback which therefore has serious consequences for AC Milan, which therefore does not get back in front of Inter, the new leader at the end of this ninth day. Juventus is now perfectly placed and is only two steps ahead of the top of the standings. The rest of the season promises to be more exciting than ever in Italy.
