In view of the 2030 World Cup, Morocco will build a 113,000-seat stadium near Casablanca.
Morocco presented on Friday its six preselected stadiums for the 2030 World Cup, which the Maghreb country will organize alongside Spain and Portugal.
In the lot, there will be five speakers which will be modernized for the event, in Tangier, Rabat, Agadir, Marrakech and Fez. And Morocco has confirmed the construction of a megastadium in Benslimane, near Casablanca, to the east of the country’s economic capital.

This is a monumental project, since this stadium should be able to accommodate 113,000 spectators, which would make it the second largest stadium on the planet, after that of Pyongchang in North Korea. The Spanish press fears that this little gem will compete with the Santiago-Bernabeu stadium, the home of Real Madrid, to host the final of the 2030 World Cup.
This Benslimane stadium will be built from 2025, and should be inaugurated in 2028. It will therefore not be ready for the CAN 2025, which will take place in Morocco, but for the 2030 World Cup, where Morocco will normally have five furlongs. The total budget will be 1.3 billion euros, 430 million for the construction of the Casablanca stadium, and 870 million euros to adapt the other enclosures to Fifa standards.
