There will be no Israeli or Palestinian flag in the stands at Tottenham Stadium. The London club asked its supporters not to show their support for one of the two countries.
“A football match is not an appropriate place to display flags of any political or religious affiliation or anything that could be considered inflammatory – this may include national flags in times of conflict, campaigning or issues policies”, writes Tottenham in its press release.
Note that Spurs have an Israeli international in their ranks, with Manor Solomon.
