Loaned to FC Barcelona after six months at Bayern Munich, João Cancelo (29 years old) has adapted rather well to his new team (2 goals, 1 assist in 8 matches). Linked to Manchester City until 2027, the Portuguese full-back now hopes that Barça will be able to buy him permanently.
The Blaugranas will, however, have difficulty granting the Lusitanian’s wish. Sport claims that the Skyblues have informed their Catalan counterparts that Cancelo’s starting price had been set at €50m. A price which makes the operation impossible given the current state of Barça’s finances.
