It’s barely been a week since Eden Hazard announced that he was retiring from work at the age of 32.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger hung up his boots after leaving the latter over the summer, following a mutual contract termination, and ultimately decided he wanted to continue playing.

Many have questioned Hazard’s decision to end his career, especially considering he is still so young in footballing terms. These questions were accentuated after seeing his performance during a charity match in France on Wednesday evening.

Hazard played for Variétés Club France alongside big names, including the father of Kylian Mbappé, the Paris Saint-Germain player, to whom he gifted a goal with a characteristic flick.

There is no doubt that Hazard was one of the most talented players of his generation. His time at Real Madrid did not yield the expected results, but that does not detract from the quality of his play during many years at Lille, then at Chelsea.
