Present at a press conference this Thursday, one week before the Nations League match between Norway and France, Hervé Renard was concerned about the physical condition of his players.
For the moment everything is well. Engaged in the first Nations League in the history of women’s football, the French team won its first two matches and intends to continue this momentum, during the double opposition which looms against Norway. To announce the composition of the tricolor group during this penultimate gathering of the year 2023, Hervé Renard was present in front of journalists on Thursday. In addition to his choices, he also warned about the current period, which is sometimes conducive to more injuries.
Firstly, a good point awarded to the clubs. “ I think that the clubs manage playing time quite well. In recent weeks, we have seen that, even if there were a lot of matches, for Paris FC, Olympique Lyonnais, PSG among others, the coaches run with the numbers that allow it. So, it’s good, it allows you to breathe (…) and not get burned out, at a time which is rather difficult. » And the French coach warns. “ Attention ! It’s a time when we play a lot. Change of weather. The injuries can be a little more serious so you have to be very attentive and take great care.“
Four more games
The French team’s calendar still includes four matches between now and the end of 2023. Four Nations League matches, starting with these two matches against Norway, scheduled for October 27 and 31. Then we will have to wait until December with a home match against Austria (the 1st) and a trip to Portugal (the 5th).
