Benjamin Pavard not only became the first defender of the French team to score a double since Mamadou Sakho in November 2013, he is also the first French player to score two headed goals in the same match.
Starting for the first time in a two-man central defense in the French team, Tuesday, after having firmly demanded it from Didier Deschamps, Benjamin Pavard shone brightly in front of the public at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, he, the native of Maubeuge trained at Losc. The Inter Milan player scored a double header against Scotland, from a corner from Antoine Griezmann and a tight cross from Kylian Mbappé.

We have to go back to November 19, 2013 and the second leg of the 2014 World Cup against Ukraine to see a Blues defender score a double. It was obviously Mamadou Sakho, who capsized a melting crowd at the Stade de France, allowing the selection already led by Didier Deschamps to overthrow Ukraine (3-0 victory, after a 2-0 defeat in Kiev ).
But Pavard is even stronger, since he is the first French player to score a double header since Zinédine Zidane’s two legendary goals in the final of the 98 World Cup against Brazil, already in Saint-Denis. Faced with amorphous Auriverde players, “Zizou” shook the nets on corners from Emmanuel Petit and Youri Djorkaeff.
