The France team faces Scotland in a friendly match this Tuesday (9 p.m.). Here is the expected line-up for the Blues.

After having punched its ticket for Euro 2024 thanks to its victory in the Netherlands (2-1), the French team is back for a friendly meeting in this October gathering. The world vice-champions will come up against a team in good shape from the continent, Scotland, which has also validated its qualification for the European Nations Championship.

We meet a qualified opponent before the last two days. They have this tranquility, underlined Didier Deschamps. They deserve it, since they have won five in a row, even if they lost the last match in Spain. We find ourselves in the same configuration as last month, with the most important qualifying match at the start. I will not neglect the second, but my logic is to be able to distribute the playing time, without putting the players in difficulty. It’s not putting the same team back, nor changing the whole team. I also know that the players will be judged based on their performance. »

France-Scotland: Deschamps’ strong choices

The coach therefore made no secret of it: a significant rotation is expected compared to the first match. Unpublished, the eleven of this Tuesday evening should however reserve some surprises. The first concerns players called to be chained. If a rest could be imagined for Kylian Mbappé, the captain should be in line to try to make an impression again, in the same way as Antoine Griezmann. The second surprise will be found in the defensive sector, where Jonathan Clauss, who scored points in Amsterdam, should also continue while Benjamin Pavard would find a place in central defense. A definitive evolution in the hierarchy of the different defensive positions?

The expected composition for the France team: Maignan – Clauss, Pavard, Konaté, T. Hernandez – Griezmann, Tchouaméni, Camavinga – Dembélé, Giroud, Mbappé.
