Real Madrid’s Brazilian international striker Rodrygo was very frank when discussing his position at club.
Often responsible for acting at the forefront of Real Madrid’s attack since the departure of Karim Benzema to Al-Ittihad, Rodrygo spoke about his positioning in the club. As part of an interview for the Madrid daily A.S.the Auriverde international, in the middle of a qualifying campaign for the next World Cup with Brazil, said he reluctantly took on the role of center forward at club.
“It is always important to be able to perform various functionsjudged the winner of the 2022 Champions League. I have always made it clear that I have the ability to play on the wings and that I just don’t like playing as a 9, even though at my club I have to do it. Here, in the national team, I can move all over the pitch, which helps my game”explained the former member of Santos FC.
The Osasco native still sees positives in being able to play several different positions. “Being able to do all of these tasks is important because it increases your chances of not being replaced. It’s fundamental for me”, he said. It remains to be seen how this media outing by Rodrygo will be interpreted by Real coach Carlo Ancelotti.
