Kylian Mbappé has been given a one-week ultimatum to decide his future at Paris Saint-Germain, according to sensational reports in Spain.

The Frenchman was banned over the summer when it was revealed he would not trigger his one-year extension, meaning he will be free to leave PSG at the end of the season. However, after indicating that an extension on a renegotiated contract was not out of the question, he was brought back into the fold.

But as of now, he still hasn’t signed a new lease and time is passing slowly but surely. That is why Sport claims the 24-year-old has been given a week’s deadline to accept a new and final offer from the Ligue 1 giants.

The refusal of the offer, it is claimed, will officially end the relationship between PSG and the player, who will leave permanently for nothing in 2024. Real Madrid is his obvious destination, but Los Blancos are not worried from the perspective of a possible extension.

The Spanish have the impression of having control over the issue. Real fans have already forgotten Mbappé and are calling for a true number nine in Erling Haaland, while the astonishing success of Jude Bellingham has taken all pressure off Los Blancos to sign another megastar. They believe that Mbappé needs Real more than Real needs Mbappé.

The aforementioned report claims that PSG are only offering a one-year extension with a release clause below his value in order to allow him to leave next summer, but without the Parisians leaving empty-handed.

Sport is using recent comments from a Real Madrid board member who is openly talking about signing Mbappé as evidence that Los Blancos are already planning a behind-the-scenes approach.

The Spanish media also claims that it is not excluded that Madrid, PSG and Mbappé will come together to agree on an action plan in the interest of all parties. The Frenchman’s future could be decided as early as November if the report is to be believed.
