Since his departure from OL, Lucas Tousart has taken a new turn on the other side of the Rhine. Important at Hertha Berlin, the defensive midfielder decided to stay in Berlin this summer by joining the Union despite requests from several foreign clubs such as Napoli. A choice that the 26-year-old Frenchman does not seem to regret even though he played in the Germans’ two matches in the Champions League this season.
An exhibition on the most prestigious of continental scenes which, he hopes, will allow him to catch the eye of Didier Deschamps as he confided during an interview given to Kicker : “I made all the youth teams. That’s why I always aimed to play for the national team. But with Hertha, we were at the bottom of the ladder. And Didier Deschamps almost only looks at players who are on the international scene. That’s why it was quite difficult for me until now.»
