Riyad Mahrez has just stated that he has no intention of stopping his career with the Fennecs.

Last summer, Riyad Mahrez said goodbye to European football by signing with the Saudi club Al-Ahli. He chose this exotic championship, but that does not mean he has abandoned all ambition. The former Le Havre player plans to extend his career as far as possible with the selection of his country.

Mahrez still has “a lot to offer” to Algeria

Mahrez is 32 years old and he has worn the Greens jersey since 2014. A long journey which he has no plans to end for the moment. Sunday evening, and on the eve of the opposition against Egypt in a friendly, he affirmed that he has no date set for the epilogue of his international career.

“I am still young and I still feel very good, he began by confiding to journalists. I still have a lot to give to the national team. I am very motivated. And our ambitions are high, particularly with a view to the next African Cup of Nations. We are still hungry for even more success. And that’s what matters most to me.”

Next January, in Ivory Coast, Algeria will have to erase its poor CAN in Cameroon (elimination on 1er round). During the group stage, they will face Angola, Burkina Faso and Mauritania.
