The takeover of Manchester United becomes clearer as the days tick by! After revising his initial offer, Jim Ratcliffe attracted the favor of the Glazers, at the helm of the Red Devils since 2005, by offering to enter the capital of the Mancunian club as a minority shareholder. His direct competitor, Sheikh Jassim Bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, for his part, wanted to acquire the integrity of the club but ultimately abandoned the file due to the financial demands of the bosses of MU. In reaction to this, Mancunian fans were quick to express some doubts following the withdrawal of the chairman of Qatar Bank Islamic (QIB), like the Manchester United Supporter’s Trust (MUST) who urged the Mancunian owners to clarify their position.
“It would be extremely optimistic to think that the Glazers are acting in the best interests of supporters or making ownership decisions that are not centered on their own priorities. We call on all parties to put the interests of Man Utd ahead of their own interests. If reports of INEOS securing a 25% stake in our club are true, a number of issues need to be clarified before supporters can pass judgment on its merits.we can read in the MUST press release.
