Candidate for the takeover of Manchester United, Sheikh Jassim en Hamad al-Thani has decided not to insist. He is withdrawn from the race this Saturday.

Since last November, Manchester United has been for sale. At least in part. Because even if they opened the door to a possible buyout, the brothers Joel and Avram Glazer wanted to keep some shares. In any case, this is what was confirmed over time and which ultimately pushed Sheikh Jassim ben Hamad al-Thani, one of the two potential buyers, to withdraw from the buyout process.

This Saturday, the information was confirmed by the English media. And even if the main person concerned did not wish to speak officially so as not to contravene the confidentiality rules linked to this famous process, it now appears that there is only one candidate: Jim Ratcliffe. The latter seems all the closer to winning as he agreed from the start not to buy the entire club estimated at 10 billion dollars by its owners at the start of the sale .

Confirmation imminent

According to the Dailymail, the matter would practically be heard between the founder of Ineos and the Glazer family. The two parties should therefore agree on Jim Ratcliffe’s entry into the capital of Manchester United to the tune of 25%. The club’s board of directors will then need to validate the agreement. As for the supporters of Red Devilsthey should not like the fact that the Glazers remain in power.
