He was an unfortunate finalist in the 2006 World Cup with the Blues and now coaches in the ninth English division.

Incredible journey that of Pascal Chimbonda, unforgettable surprise guest of the 2006 World Cup with Raymond Domenech’s French team, for an unfortunate final against Italy at the finish.

Having spent his career with Wigan, Tottenham, Sunderland, Blackburn and QPR, the former Guadeloupe full-back, now aged 44, still lives in England where he has just been appointed coach of the Skelmersdale United club.

Not far from Wigan and Liverpool, the club in question has never played higher than sixth nationally but enjoys a small local popularity rating. “It’s a great honor to coach a club with such an important history as Skelmersdale. It’s a fantastic opportunity,” enthused Pascal Chimbonda at his official presentation.
