FIFA reacts to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

The flaring up of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict prompted a letter from Fifa addressed to the federations concerned.

The most powerful sports federation in the world, Fifa has not remained deaf and silent in the face of the terrorist acts and military violence observed these days in the Middle East. Attacked by Hamas on its territory on October 7, Israel has since responded massively by targeting the Gaza Strip.

This Friday, FIFA, through its president Gianni Infantino, sent a letter to the presidents of the Palestinian and Israeli football federations, calling for an immediate end to the conflict. “ FIFA joins calls for an immediate end to hostilities and for an immediate alleviation of the suffering of the Israeli and Palestinian people. »

And to add in this missive sent to Moshe Shino Zuares, the president of the Israeli Football Federation, and to Jibril Rajoub, his Palestinian counterpart: “ The world of football wishes to affirm its solidarity with the people of Israel and Palestine, and with all the innocent victims who paid a terrible price. »
