Since the spring of 2021, Christophe Galtier’s career has experienced some upheavals and a certain regression.
Frankly, we did not imagine Christophe Galtier signing on Thursday for Al-Duhail (Qatar) to replace Hernan Crespo who was waxed the day before. Thanked last summer by PSG, after a single season on the Parisian bench still concluded with a French championship title, the 57-year-old coach now finds himself in a second-rate championship.
However, a little over two years ago, Christophe Galtier triumphed with Losc by beating Paris Saint-Germain in the race for the championship title. With a much less stellar team than that of the capital, “Galette” further strengthened its status in the coaching world.

He did not stay in the North to lead Lille in particular in the Champions League in 2021-2022. Christophe Galtier was seduced by the OGC Nice project inspired by Ineos, the powerful new owner.
Here he is off to grow the Riviera club and establish it regularly in the French top 5, without forgetting Europe. “ I’m not someone passing through.”, declared Galtier, at the end of the 2021-2022 season, to respond to rumors saying he was leaving. The rumors were true.
Galtier left Nice for PSG in the summer of 2022. The rest, we know. The season did not go well sportingly (eliminations in the round of 16 of the C1 and the Coupe de France) and he was affected by the affair of supposed racist comments made when he was still in Nice.
Christophe Galtier will have to explain this in court in December. In the meantime, he will occupy his mind in the country of his former Parisian employer even if the link with Qatar is ultimately not severed.
