Spain coach Luis de la Fuente says the door is open for a return of Sevilla defender Sergio Ramos.

However, he also insisted that he is happy with his current options at central defense. “We must always respect the players who are called up. For me, the players who are here at the moment are the best footballers who can be with us at the moment. I think Ramos has said goodbye. But, that said, no one has closed any doors here. But we have to respect the fact that if nothing happens, then nothing happens.”
Unlike his predecessor Luis Enrique, De La Fuente is therefore not at all opposed to a return of the Andalusian. “ Is it possible that one day he could be on the list? I don’t know, but if another day he’s not there, we have to understand it with absolute normality and naturalness”he added.
Sergio Ramos has 180 matches for his country. Only five players have more capes than him in the world. His last selection, however, dates back to March 2021. Luis Enrique did not select him for the World Cup in Qatar due to his checkered first season at PSG.
