Tottenham’s start to the season confirmed the idea that Hugo Lloris would no longer play for Spurs unless there was a twist of fate. The French goalkeeper is now awaiting the winter transfer window.

Hugo Lloris is inevitably starting to find the time long. The former Blues goalkeeper has not played a single match for almost six months. And the situation does not seem ready to improve for the native of Nice. If Ange Postecoglou, the new Spurs coach, has finally put his name on the list of players likely to play in the Premier League, his horizon is completely blocked.

While Guglielmo Vicario, arrived from Empoli, has been installed as number one, it is in fact Fraser Foster who plays the understudy behind the Italian goalkeeper. Hugo Lloris, for his part, has to make do with training sessions and is free to spend his weekends with his family. To believe The Team, only an injury or suspension of Vicario could change the situation in the short term. Because the former Lyonnais now has only one deadline in mind: the winter transfer window.

LLoris will only have six months left on his contract

Last summer, the record holder for selections for the French team had no shortage of requests. But for the most part, if not in Saudi Arabia where certain clubs dreamed of attracting him, it was only a question of big Europeans looking for an understudy, like Lazio Rome or from Newcastle. Clubs ready to put a small ticket on the table to attract the Frenchman, as desired by Daniel Levy, the president of Tottenham.

The French goalkeeper had hoped that his leaders would let him go free after more than a decade of good and loyal service with Spurs. But that was without counting on the intransigence of the boss of the London club. The situation could nevertheless change this winter since the French goalkeeper will only have six months of contract left. Enough to give him a glimmer of hope.
