FC Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Thiago Alcantara next summer if the Spanish midfielder leaves Liverpool.
The former Barcelona academy player has just one year left on his contract and has yet to play this season for the Reds.
Next summer he will be 33 and it is unlikely that the English club will offer him a new contract. According to the Spanish publication SportBarca are ready to strike, and are “attentive to the situation” of the midfielder.
Thiago has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hip injury suffered at the end of last season. The midfielder has not played since April and underwent surgery in May.
Thiago is set to continue his rehabilitation at Anfield, but it is likely he will play elsewhere when his lease expires.
