Nine months before the Paris 2024 Olympics, the Bleuets coach, Thierry Henry, did not really want to expand on the subject. The former EDF striker nevertheless confirmed Kylian Mbappé’s interest in this next event.

In four days, the France Espoirs team will play the Euro 2025 qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina, and against Cyprus, in a week. Present as part of an interview for The Teambefore the next shock against the Bosnians, Thierry Henry, the Bleuets coach, was clear about the Paris 2024 Olympics.

“I, coach of the under-21 team, can’t talk about the Olympics, it’s a lack of respect for the generation that is here today, because I don’t know who will be part of the under-21 team. 23 years. (…) When the preparations for the Olympics arrive, in March, my speech will be different, it’s inevitable”announced the second top scorer of the Blues.

The former AS Monaco coach, wishing to concentrate on his current group, briefly mentioned the case of Kylian Mbappé, who has the hope of playing in the next competition with the French Olympic team. “I didn’t talk to Kylian about all that. Even if, like everyone else, I heard that he would like to do them,” said the former Arsenal glory.

As a reminder, only internationals under the age of 23 can be selected for the Olympic Games. However, they can be accompanied by three players over 23 years old.
