Always eager to strengthen themselves at the back, Man City is prospecting in Germany. The Eastlands want to snatch one of their strong men from Bayern.
Manchester City are reportedly closely monitoring Alphonso Davies’ situation at Bayern Munich.
Guardiola likes Bundesliga defenders
The Canadian full-back has seen negotiations for a new contract with Bayern drag on in recent months, fueling rumors that he will be sold in 2024. Davies’ agent revealed interest from Real Madrid and from “several other clubs”.
According to TMW, City are among those suitors and view Davies as the potential long-term successor to veteran full-back Kyle Walker. Even if he extended recently, the latter is not part of the long-term plans of the reigning European champions.
Given that the player’s contract expires in 2025, Bayern must absolutely part with Davies during the 2024 summer transfer window or risk seeing him leave free and without any compensation the following year.
As a reminder, during the previous offseason, Guardiola and City already looked for a quality defender in the Bundesliga. They had snatched the excellent Josko Gvardiol from Leipzig.
