The Algerian neo-international, Amine Gouiri, reacted to the possibility of seeing Rayan Cherki follow his path.

After defending the colors of the Bleuets, Amine Gouiri chose to play for the Algerian national team. This week he joined the Greens for the first time, with the hope of being able to celebrate his 1e international cape next Thursday against Cape Verde.

After Gouiri, Cherki?

Gouiri therefore said he skipped France to play with Algeria. A decision that Rayan Cherki, the OL attacking midfielder, could also very well make. He also comes from a family of Algerian origin and coach Djamel Belmadi admitted last Sunday that he had taken the necessary steps to attract him to his squad.

Will Gouiri end up joining the Greens? The question was asked this Tuesday to Gouiri after a training session. The Rennes member suggested that it is entirely possible. “Frankly, the decision is his and each of us is the master of our destiny. Of course, we would be very happy if he ends up joining us.” he confided.

And when asked afterwards if he himself would seek to persuade Cherki to play for the Greens, Gouiri replied: “Honestly, I don’t talk to him too much about it. But once again I hope that all the binational talents playing in Europe will choose Algeria.”

Note that in addition to Algeria and France, Cherki also has the possibility of opting for Italy. His grandparents have ties to the Boot. Roberto Mancini, the former coach, had sought to summon him before his resignation.
