Despite incessant rumors surrounding a potential return, FC Barcelona are not considering bringing back Lionel Messi, according to a source.
Inter Miami have officially been eliminated from the MLS playoff race, meaning that after the regular season ends at the end of the month, Messi and his teammates will be without a championship for four months.
This fact has recently given rise to new reports of a triumphant return of the Argentine world champion to Barcelona, following the example of David Beckham, who made two stays at AC Milan while under contract with the LA Galaxy.
Messi is not yet thinking about his future, since he has just signed for Miami, and his poor end to the season will probably not change anything, since there are still matches to play and the month of January is still far away.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the rumors linking Messi to a sensational return to the Blaugrana have nothing to do with it. The report even goes so far as to claim that FC Barcelona have not considered the possibility of re-signing the 36-year-old on loan.
The Catalans have other priorities and the fact that they are still short of money would have made the operation difficult, even if Miami had agreed to cover part of his salary during the term of the loan.
