The former Parisian goalkeeper was very critical of the current captain of the Ile-de-France team, Marquinhos.

PSG is blowing hot and cold at the start of the season, with performances that clearly lack consistency. And if there is a player who symbolizes this fluctuating performance it is Marquinhos.

“Marquinhos is no longer progressing”

The Brazilian full-back was particularly catastrophic last week during the trip to Newcastle in the Champions League. One of his missed passes also resulted in the opponent’s opening score.

“Marqui” is not at his best, and this has not escaped Mickaël Landreau, former PSG goalkeeper who today works as a consultant for Canal+. “Marquinhos has not progressed for several years. He has a chance to say to himself that with this coach (Luis Enrique, editor’s note), he can progress.”

Landreau hits the Auriverde international, but the latter is not the only one to suffer his wrath. He is angry with the entire Parisian team: “I would like the players to progress and understand that it is a style of play. Everything will not be perfect. The players need to progress and get in tune.”

Finally, the former French international stressed that the rout among the Magpies must also serve as a lesson to Luis Enrique: “It’s a match that should serve as a learning experience. Under very high pressure, we never played depth. There must be intelligence and adaptation of situations.”
