Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has withdrawn from England’s squad for October’s two international matches against Italy and Australia.

“Bukayo Saka will not take part in England’s matches with Australia and Italy. The striker turned up at St. George’s Park on Monday with the rest of the Three Lions squad“, we can read via a press release from the England team.

After missing Arsenal’s Premier League win over Manchester City on Sunday through injury, Saka was assessed by England’s medical team and it was decided that the player would continue his rehabilitation at his club.

“No replacements are planned, with Gareth Southgate having a squad of 25 players to work with.

Saka limped out of the north London derby against Tottenham earlier this month and was not included in Arsenal’s squad for the Premier League win over Manchester City. Remarkably, this was the first league game he has missed since May 2021, ending a run of 87 consecutive Premier League appearances.
