Luis Enrique’s big rant

Luis Enrique did not like certain questions following the great Parisian victory in Rennes on Sunday, at the end of the 8th day of Ligue 1.

Four days after their heavy defeat on the Newcastle lawn, PSG raised their heads. Traveling to Rennes on behalf of the 8e day of Ligue 1, the capital club won 3-1 after generally dominating. A meeting marked by a return to a more classic 4-3-3 after experimenting with a very offensive 4-2-4.

There was obviously a lot of talk about this tactical change after the meeting. And while the Parisian players discussed the subject with a grain of salt, explaining that it was useful to have several diagrams available, Luis Enrique first had a very agreed speech. “We always have balance. We have 11 attackers and 11 defenders, that’s the key to a team, that’s what we’re trying to create,” he said on Prime Video.

Questioned immediately at the microphone of Free Ligue 1, the Spanish technician on the other hand did not like that Alexandre Ruiz pointed out the first thirty minutes, during which the Parisians were jostled, and questioned him on the things to improve. “ You only see the negative! It’s incredible ! To all the interviews! he’s the most negative guy in the history of football! Last time we won 4-1 and he told me we deserved to lose,” he said, visibly annoyed.

And the former Barça coach added another layer after agreeing that Rennes had started the match better. “For me, Rennes were better than us in the first 25 minutes. And then I say to myself: either we improve, or it will become complicated. But they are not machines. These gentlemen (pointing to Rio Mavuba and Ludovic Giuly, editor’s note) were playful. Football is made of circumstances. Young people understand everything, it’s you (Alexandre Ruiz) who understands nothing. That’s what I think when you ask me these questions.” he continued, already appearing on edge after the defeat conceded in the Champions League to Newcastle.
