Paul Pogba now receives the minimum salary provided for by the collective agreement for professional players in the Italian championship.

The B sample requested by Paul Pogba after his testosterone test revealed in September also turned out to be positive on Friday. The confirmation of this positive test will probably put an end to the midfielder’s contract with Juventus Turin. The rest of his career is now very compromised.

Pending a possible termination of his contract, which expires in June 2026, the leaders of the Old Lady have reduced the salary of the international tricolor to the minimum threshold. According to several Italian media, the native of Lagny-sur-Marne only receives the minimum income provided for by the collective agreement for professional players, i.e. 42,500 euros gross per year. An amount which is equivalent to around 3,500 euros per month.

Before this doping affair, Paul Pogba was the highest paid player at Juventus Turin. The former Manchester United midfielder received eight million euros net annually (plus two million bonuses). His future within the Italian club is now more than threatened. “On a human level, this displeases me a lot, because I am close to the boy. Football loses an extraordinary player who was different from all the others (…) Let’s wait for the sanction. This saddens us all, we hope the best for him, because on a psychological level it cannot be easy”confided Massimiliano Allegri after his team’s victory in the derby against Torino (2-0) on Saturday, on the occasion of the eighth day of Serie A.
