Arsenal – City: probable line-ups

This is the shock of this 8th day in the Premier League. Arsenal host Manchester City in north London. An XXL poster between the Gunners who hope to take revenge for last season, which saw the Skyblues catch up before lifting the title of champion of England, with only 5 points ahead of their opponents of the day. This year, the two behemoths are off to a good start. If Spurs temporarily reign at the top of the table, the winner between Arsenal and City will take 1st place in the championship, ideal before the international break.

For this meeting, Mikel Arteta should not review his usual game plan. Raya should be started, although he was far from perfect against Lens in the Champions League. In front of him, a line of 4 with White, Saliba, Gabriel and Zinchenko, who will often enter the midfield when his team has the ball. In the middle, Partey still seems too short. Rice should therefore see Havertz and Odegaard at his side. On the left wing, Trossard should fill the position with Gabriel Jesus up front and Saka on the right, even if the Englishman is certainly not 100%. Opposite, Pep Guardiola should line up Ederson, Walker, Akanji, Dias and Gvardiol. In the middle, there is choice, but Lewis should be preferred to Nunes, with Kovacic also, in a double pivot. Doku and Foden should feed their lanes with Alvarez supporting Haaland, alone at the forefront. The Gunners in 4-3-3, the Skyblues in 4-2-3-1. What is certain is that this enormous poster could already prove decisive for the rest of the season.
