Real Madrid have reportedly chosen their top transfer target for the summer of 2024 – and this time it’s not Kylian Mbappé.

The Paris Saint-Germain star has long been coveted by the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, but the Madrilenians have encountered fierce resistance every step of the way from the French champions.

Today, and even if speculation around Mbappé continues, the Merengue seem to have set their sights on another dazzling young player.

According to A.S.Alphonso Davies is now at the top of the club’s list of transfer priorities.

The Bayern Munich player is considered one of the best left-backs in the world and, at 22, he is already in his fifth season as a starter.

Davies’ speed and attacking profile would suit Madrid perfectly, following in the footsteps of former stars of the position like Roberto Carlos and Marcelo.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti is a big fan of the Canadian international, although his continuity beyond the current season is being called into question by rumors that he will accept the Brazil manager’s job, while the resounding success Jude Bellingham’s performance so far could inspire Madrid to return to the Bundesliga next summer.

The Madrilenians are expecting a high price, but they know Bayern are pragmatic when it comes to transfers and are willing to let their stars go if they receive a suitable offer.

They will be further encouraged by recent comments from Davies’ agent, Nedal Huoseh, who appears to leave the door open for a future transfer.

“There is interest, as there is for many teams”he told 365ScoresArabic.

“We will see what happens in the coming months. I’m sure Madrid could be one of the clubs that would like to sign Davies. He played with (David) Alaba for three years and they talk privately all the time.

“Alphonso doesn’t share all the information with me, but I’m sure David would like to play with him again. He may have mentioned it… They’re friends.”
