It is with the objective of relaunching itself that the Racing Club de Strasbourg approaches its match against FC Nantes, this Friday, at the opening of the 8th day of Ligue 1 (kick-off at 9 p.m.). Although defeated by Lens last weekend, the Alsatians have a very honorable record. A success this Friday evening would even allow them to temporarily climb back into the top 5 before the weekend’s matches.
Patrick Vieira, however, has to deal with a few ailments in preparation for this match. Two important players are uncertain: the young Brazilian winger Angelo, very active against the Sang et Or, but absent from the last training session, as well as midfielder Habib Diarra. The international Espoir, summoned by Thierry Henry for the Bleuets rally in October, is however expected to start if he is operational.
For the rest, Strasbourg should rely on its usual frameworks with an articulated animation in 4-3-3. The irremovable Sels will continue in the goals, while Delaine, Doukouré and Deminguet are also expected to start this match.
