Olympique de Marseille welcomes Brighton this Thursday for the 2nd day of the group stage of the Europa League (6:45 p.m.).

After a setback conceded in Monaco for his first on the OM bench (2-3), Gennaro Gattuso is back at it again against another big player. The Marseille club faces Brighton for its second outing in the Europa League. A fairly illegible English team, renowned for its quality of play but on a dangerous slope in recent weeks.

“Reading the match is simple: it’s a team that always plays the same, with a lot of possession. If we had to give a title, it would be: “Courage and without fear”. If you press you have to be careful because they are very strong in the game. You have to play, don’t be shy. The players change but the philosophy always remains the same for this team“, launched Gennaro Gattuso.

If Gattuso’s approach should therefore not change, OM lovers will scrutinize the choices of the Italian technician for the starting eleven. Despite his resounding double in Amsterdam against Ajax two weeks ago (3-3), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not spared from criticism. The Gabonese striker is going through a delicate period. But in his official speech, Gattuso showed all his confidence in him. “ Aubameyang’s 34 years don’t matter. We see that he is still peaking at 35-36 km/h. He scored 4 goals in the Europa League, he wants to give everything. He can still give us a lot.

A strong message which suggests the presence of the former Gunner at kick-off. Other executives are expected in the starting line-up, such as Rongier, Veretout and Gigot.

The expected composition of OM: Lopez – Clauss, Mbemba, Gigot, Murillo – Ounahi, Rongier, Veretout – Ndiaye, Aubameyang, Correa.
