While Paris Saint-Germain travels to Newcastle this Wednesday evening for the second day of the Champions League, the capital club is also active at the Parc des Princes. From the Paris region, the PSG Foundation launched the new season of the “Allez Les Filles!” program, created in 2012 to promote sporting and cultural activities for young townspeople aged 11 to 16 from disadvantaged neighborhoods. In the press release from the capital club, the latter announces more than 550 beneficiaries of this initiative launched to enable them to “develop their self-confidence.” For the launch of this new campaign, a giant escape game was set up within the Parisian enclosure for the beneficiaries, before meeting two of the program’s godmothers, the French internationals Marie-Antoinette Katoto (godmother in Colombes) and Jade Le Guilly (godmother in Vitry). It is also an opportunity for those responsible for the project to present their objectives and to share the social and extra-sporting commitments that Paris Saint-Germain wishes to promote.

“These are girls who love sport, but there are also some who don’t, explains Laura Delort, Partnerships & Communications Manager at the PSG Foundation. The idea is to help them escape from their daily lives and thus emancipate themselves through sport. (…) We invite them regularly when the girls play at the Parc des Princes. There are highlights during the year, such as this ceremony, visits to the Park, workshops around ecology, nutrition… Several non-sport activities are offered, in culture, art. We did the Opera, the Louvre, so it’s well beyond sports.” “I am very proud to be able to represent the values of this great program and convey the message to these young girls that sport is accessible to all. (…) I directly agreed to participate in this project. Every girl has the chance to become a professional, after that it’s work and determination.”, declared for her part the godmother of Allez Les Filles in Vitry, Jade Le Guilly. A major project to enable these adolescent games to be supported and to be able to enjoy sporting and extra-sporting activities, thus confirming the desire of the PSG Foundation to participate in equal opportunities in Île-de-France.
