Eight meetings of the 2e lifting were held this Tuesday on different grounds across Europe. It was Galatasaray who signed the most impressive performance by emerging victorious from their shock against Manchester United (2-3). Inter Milan also filled up at home, but not without difficulty. The victory against Benfica came down to the wire (1-0).

Intractable Bellingham

At the Diego Armando Maradona stadium, Real won their face to face against Naples (2-3). If Rudi Garcia’s men opened the scoring first through Leo Ostigard (19th), they were seriously disrupted by the Madrilenians in the first period. The latter were able to count on their offensive leader, Vinicus Junior to come back to the score – on an assist from Jude Bellingham, also scorer after a solo breakthrough (34th). At the start of the second period, the Azzurri reduced the gap with a penalty converted by Piotr Zieliński (54e). But they didn’t count on the untenable Federico Valverde, author of a sensational strike which lodged in Alex Meret’s net after bouncing off the Italian goalkeeper.

In the same group, the Berlin Union lost to Braga at home (2-3). This despite a double from Surinamese striker Sheraldo Becker (30th, 37th).

Galatasaray defeats Manchester United

For Group A, Manchester United lost to Galatasaray (2-3). However, the Red Devils quickly opened the scoring through Rasmus Hojlund, author of a double. (17th, 76th). The Istanbulites, however, responded just as quickly with an achievement from the Ivorian Wilfried Zaha. We then had to wait for the 71e minute to see the Turks return to the mark once again with a goal from Kerem Aktürkoğlu. Shortly after Casemiro’s expulsion, it was Mauro Icardi who gave his team the victory (81st).

At the same time, Bayern Munich were scared in Copenhagen. For a long time dominated in scoring by the Danes, Tuchel’s men managed to turn things around with achievements from Jamal Musiala (67th) and Mathys Tel (83rd).

Lens shone

The feat of the evening is to the credit of RC Lens. The Sang et Or managed to win against the Arsenal Gunners in Bollaert (2-1). This is the first victory for Frank Haise’s men in this Champions League campaign. They are temporarily at the top of their group, tied on points with Sevilla FC, winner of PSV Eindhoven. The Spaniards having managed to win against the Dutch at the Philips stadium (0-1).

Finally, in Group D, Marcus Thuram allowed the Nerazzurri to obtain a first success in two matches against the Lisbon team (1-0). Real Sociedad, for its part, has a victory and a draw in two games after getting the better of Salzburg away (0-2).
