For Nuno Mendes, it’s the tile. Hit in the hamstrings, the Portuguese left-back relapsed, this time forcing him to undergo surgery. Unavailable since April 30, the 21-year-old now has four months of absence. Having gone to Finland, to the Turku clinic, to get back on his feet, Mendes should be able to return to his best level if we are to believe the man who operated on him, Lasse Lempainen.

“He had already been injured in May. It was decided not to operate, but there, given the situation and this relapse, it was necessary to do so. We are very satisfied with the operation. Right away, he was in a good mood. He is a calm, polite, pleasant person. He is very well surrounded. I am very optimistic. He’s a young player, he has great recovery skills. We have set a very precise recovery plan, which has been communicated by the club. (…) I am convinced that he will return at a very high level”he confided to The Team.
