This is very bad news which was announced by the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) this Tuesday. Patrice Lecornu died at the age of 65. Trained at ASPTT Caen, the former right winger, who will have experienced three clubs in his career (Red Star, Angers and Nantes), also honored three selections with the French team between 1979 and 1981.

Born in Flers, Patrice Lecornu finally ended his career due to recurring knee problems at the age of only 27. The former French international will then logically turn to a coaching career. The latter will mainly take place with his favorite club, Red Star, before becoming the training director of PSG between 2000 and 2005 and then leading the reserve team of the capital club.
