Fifteen days after securing a good draw on the pitch at Sevilla FC (1-1), Lens is attacking another big name in European football. For its second match in Group F, the Artesian club has a meeting with Arsenal. A match which will have a very special flavor since it marks the reunion between the Sang et Or and the Champions League.
Facing the English vice-champions, the task will not be easy for Franck Haise’s men, Arsenal being one of the rare teams still undefeated this season.
After a complicated start to the season, RC Lens is nevertheless getting back on track since the draw in Seville was followed by two victories in Ligue 1, the first of the season. After overthrowing Toulouse at Bollaert, the French vice-champions went on to win in Strasbourg (0-1). “It’s our first match of the season without conceding a goal. We wanted to reassure ourselves on this point since we conceded goals in all the matches”did not fail to highlight Florian Sotoca.
