These are sad events which are happening, unfortunately, still in 2023. This Saturday, Tottenham won against Liverpool after a lively meeting to say the least. And while Spurs won on the wire thanks to an own goal from Joël Matip, the London club continued its incredible start to the season. Unfortunately, everything didn’t go well. At the end of the meeting, Destiny Udogie, young Italian left defender of Spurs, was the victim of racist insults on social networks.
Indeed, the former Udinese player was attacked by Reds supporters after causing the expulsion of Diogo Jota. A relentlessness which pushed Tottenham to step up to the plate this Monday: “We are disgusted by the racist messages directed at Destiny Udogie on social media following Saturday’s match against Liverpool. We will work with the Premier League and, where possible, take action against anyone we are able to identify. We stand with you, Destiny.»
