Real Madrid returned to the top of La Liga on Saturday evening with an excellent 3-0 victory over Girona at Montilivi. Captain Nacho Fernandez received a red card late in the match.
Nacho was shown a red card for a foul on Girona winger Portu, who had to leave the field on a stretcher following the incident. He will therefore miss the next matches due to his suspension, which is the last thing Real Madrid needs at this stage.
On Instagram after the match, Nacho apologized to Portu and said he never intended to hurt the Girona player.
