Paulo Fonseca should not make old bones in Lille. This season is his last on the bench of the northern team.
In charge of the LOSC team since the summer of 2022, Paulo Fonseca should not stay forever in the north of France. His future seems to be taking shape in England.
Fonseca on a Premier League bench
According to information from The Sun, the Portuguese has a strong chance of becoming the new manager of Crystal Palace. If it’s not during the season then it will be at the start of the next one.
Fonseca has not yet worked in England. On the other hand, in addition to France, he has practiced in his country, but also in Ukraine (Shakhtar Donetsk) and in Italy (AS Rome).
At the Eagles, he would take over from Roy Hodgson. The latter was called back to the rescue of the first team last spring after the dismissal of Patrick Vieira. The septuagenarian coach is doing quite well. On Saturday, he led his troops to a prestigious victory at Old Trafford against Manchester United (0-1).
As a reminder, last summer, the name of Paulo Fonseca was mentioned in Marseille. The Marseille club tried to hire the Lusitanian coach, but the LOSC management opposed it and there was no transfer in the end.
