Former OL full-back Christophe Jallet believes that the players are the main responsible for what is happening to the Rhone club at the moment.

Dominated by Reims on Sunday afternoon, OL hit rock bottom both literally and figuratively. The seven-time French champion club is in a critical situation and this notably led its owner John Textor to react with an offensive press release.

“The players must get OL out of the doldrums”

The American businessman particularly attacked the players, not at club level. He also promised a big commotion from January, while coach Fabio Grosso still wants to believe in a revival of the current group.

The players have been singled out but are they the main culprits? The question was asked in particular of Christophe Jallet, a former member of the house. And the latter answered in the affirmative.

“For having experienced it from the inside, since I was in Lyon in a difficult situation. We had a complicated first part of the championship because there were 14 of use and what happened was there was just a reaction from the group. We could have made all the changes around, bring back players… No, it is the players who are here today who must react to get out of this slump which has lasted for years in Lyon. thundered the ex-international on Canal+.

Jallet knows a few players who are currently playing for Les Gones, such as Corentin Tolisso and Alexandre Lacazette. He called on them to set an example: “There are Lyonnais and there is a strong Lyon identity in the club”.
