Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi and Layvin Kurzawa admitted that they “let themselves be carried away by the euphoria” by resuming insulting chants after PSG-OM (4-0).

It’s time for excuses. A little over a week after the meeting between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille (4-0), several players from the capital club admitted to having made a mistake by repeating insulting chants after the match, during celebrations with their supporters. This Sunday, Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi and Layvin Kurzawa published the same message on social networks.

“Thank you to all our supporters for being present again yesterday in Clermont. Disappointed with the result but proud to still be able to count on you, thus write these PSG players. A week ago we all celebrated our great victory in the Classic at the Parc des Princes. After the match, we let ourselves be carried away by the euphoria. We are well aware of the impact of our actions and our words on the public, particularly the youngest who dream of watching a football match. We sincerely regret the words we should not have said and would like to apologize. In the future, we will do everything to further respect our duty to set an example. We are still expecting many of you on Wednesday in Newcastle. »

Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi and Layvin Kurzawa were summoned by the LFP disciplinary committee after these insulting chants, as was Randal Kolo Muani. They risk a fine or a sporting sanction (match suspension), but this act of contrition could earn them clemency from the League’s disciplinary body.
